Secret Behind Ksh. 53Milion Revenue Collection in Turkana

Turkana County Chief Officer for Finance Abraham Losinyen has credited ethics and professionalism exhibited by revenue staff while on their work stations.

Their impeccable conduct and hard work,he said,contributed immensely to the surpassed revenue collection target realized in the first quarter of the 2021/2022 financial year

A total of Ksh.53 million was collected against a target of Ksh.45million indicating 18% increase in revenue collected in the first quarter of this Financial Year,a trend that the Chief Officer said was impressive and promising despite challenges compounded by COVID-19 pandemic on businesses.

The County Chief Officer who was accompanied by Revenue Director Shemmy Ekuwom,was speaking today in Lodwar when handed over identification reflector jackets to revenue officers and clerks stationed at Kanamkemer and Township Wards.

He revealed that the department will soon provide official tags for identification purposes even as he assured of Government’s endeavor to provide a friendly working environment that was conducive for both officers and clients.
