Kenyan government under Hon. William Samoei Ruto on Tuesday 29th rolled out a loan facility targeting small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The program has been launched and will be managed by Kenya Development Corporation (KDC) in partnership with Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI). The SMEs interested in the facility will be allowed to apply for loans between Sh10 million and Sh500 million. The partnership will see over 3000 SMEs access to financing from KDC at affordable rates thus enabling the enterprise to manage stock and risks they encounter.

The financial facilities provided by KDC will serve as catalyst to the sustainable development of SMEs in the country. The companies and small businesses that want the money are expected to apply for the funds through KDC website. The user can log on the portal by visiting portal(dot)kdc(dot)go(dot)ke.

The applicant will then be prompted to provide the following; company registration number, company name, Phone number, e-mail, PIN number, VAT registration number, email address, postal address and physical location. As Mr president promised earlier, the funds are meant to boost Kenyan economy. In the meantime, thank you for reading my article.
