Good news to M-pesa Agents and Airtel Agents as Atwoli issues this statement. The Safaricom company and Airtel company have been receiving great revenues from M-pesa and Airtel money, the agents are very much dedicated to ensure that they do a lot of transactions so as to get a commission as directed by both Safaricom and Airtel companies. Both M-pesa and Airtel money have been very helpful especially this time of Covid 19, some people save their money in the M-pesa accounts or Airtel money accounts, while others do the transactions of sending and withdrawing money.
M-pesa Agents and Airtel money agents have now received good news after Cotu General Francis Atwoli directed both Safaricom and Airtel companies to recognise the M-pesa Agents and Airtel Money Agents as their employees. Atwoli claimed that the agents like M-pesa Agents in the month of April generated 85 billions revenue to Safaricom Company, while the voice call generated about 95 billions revenue to the Safaricom company.
Therefore Atwoli said that their position is that all the M-pesa agents are workers of Safaricom and must be treated as such. Over and above that Safaricom must allow for the unionisation of their workers. This sounds as a good message to the M-pesa agents and Airtel money agents.
