Kenya Power will interrupt power supply in different parts of Kisumu county on Sunday.
The interruption is scheduled between 8am to 4pm.
It will affect Abyssinia Steel Mills, Kisumu Concrete, transport, skylark, Mamboleo market, Wigot , Kibos sugar and adjacent customers.
The exercise aims to facilitate completion of the new Olkaria - Kisumu high voltage transmission line," the company said in Saturday.
"The power line is expected to improve adequacy and stability of power supply in western Kenyan region."
Currently, Western Kenya is mainly served through the 132kV double circuit Lessos-Lanet transmission line.
The new 220kV Olkaria-Lessos-Kibos transmission line that is under construction is expected to stabilize power supply to the Western Kenya region and address existing supply challenges.
It is part of the transmission projects that the government is currently undertaking to strengthen the electricity supply infrastructure across the country.
Last week, Kenya Power announced interruption of power supply in Kisumu City to enable ongoing works on the 220 kV Olkaria-Lessos- Kisumu line.
The power outage started from 7am and affected parts of Kisumu Central Business District, residential areas and adjacent area
