Meet Some of The Richest Women In Kenya

Kenya is a country with a lot of wealthy people, infact a a study shows that there are 125 billionaires in Kenya and 25 of them are women. Some of these women got to the top by sheer hardwork and grit while others got a little lucky by inheriting large estates and managing it well. Here are the wealthiest women in Kenya.

1. Mama Ngina Kenyatta.

Being the widow to Kenya's first president and mother to our current president is not the only feather in this matriarchs hat. She is also quite a successful business woman with a diverse investment portfolio. She owns media max ltd, brookside dairy's and has shares multiple enterprises abroad and locally. Mama Ngina has a net worth is $1 billion which is ksh 110billion.

Jane Wanjiru Michuki.

She is the managing partner at Jimani and Michuki advocates. She has a law degree from the University of a Nairobi and a masters from the University of Warwick England. Mrs Michuki also has shares worth ksh 5 billion at Nairobi security exchange (NSE).

3. Tabitha Karinja.

Tabitha and her husband Joseph Karanja are the owners and founders of keroche breweries. It is the second largest alcoholic beverages company in kenya. Coming second to East African Breweries. In 2020 keroche breweries was valued at more than ksh 8.5 billion.

4. Jane Wangui Njuguna.

She is the wife of Equity group holdings managing director James Mwangi. She also co-owns Firimbi investment firm ltd. Making her wealthy in her own right. At equity Mrs Njuguna has 1.62% shares Wich are worth ksh 3 billion.

5. Leah Wanjiku Muguku

She is a former teacher who quit her job to manage her husband's poultry farm. She became the owner upon Nelson Muguku's death. The farm has grown into a multi billion enterprise, hatching 500, 000 chicks daily and supplying eggs to state house. Wanjiku Muguku also has a stake at Equity bank worth ksh 1.6 billion and the waterfront mall in Karen which is worth ksh 3 billion
