A successful implementation of Akoin's pilot program at Mwale Medical and Technology City (MMTC) has been completed. Akoin which is a blockchain technology founded by the Senegalese-American Superstar Akon, has been used successfully to perform payroll, shopping, and dining transactions at MMTC in kakamega, western Kenya.
The Akoin wallet is furthermore being piloted for performing payment transactions at Hamptons hospital since November 2020. Akoin will be fully implemented at MMTC after the end of the current pilot program in July. By the end of 2022, Akoin will be the exclusive blockchain payment platform at MMTC, performing transactions worth US $ 2 billion per year.
This block chain currency transfer enables one to receives funds from any currency across the world. The digital money transfer block chain has been designed in such away that it automatically converts foreign currencies to Kenyan shillings hence easement of money transfer across the world.
This feature is an exemplary feature that lacks in the current Kenyan leading mobile money transfer MPESA. Akoin will enable people across the world especially in foreign countries to send money home just using their mobile phones without the need of opening PayPal accounts. When fully implement, Akoin will see millions of customers using this payment and money transfer mode.
