Kakuzi Celebrate the opening of Lamu port as avocado cargo set sail to france

Kakuzi PLC on Thursday celebrated the operationalization ofthe new Lamu port within an inaugural 80-ton cargoof avocados destined to France.

Fresh avocado grown in the Kakuzi PLC in Mukuyu orchard are part of the cargo loaded on ship MV Seago Bremerhaven which docked on port Lamu route France.

Kakuzi MD Chris Flowers said the operationalization of the port provides wider benefits of agribusiness firms that import farm inputs and export products.

this development will begin to crystallize the Lamu -South Sudan and Ethiopia transport corridor project , which will benefit Kenyan producers immensely.

Congratulation to the Kenya port Authority sided by the Government and other development partners for this mile stone achievement that will benefit the country for many years , said Flowers

Kakuzi enjoys its produce due to fertile soils in Murang'a county hence producing high quality avocado thus enjoying market preferences .

The farm will invest more than 400 million in capital expenditure while focusing on upscaling its smallholder operation value to compliment its value capacity.
