Meet Mama Mboga From Kericho Who Was Nominated As An MCA After 28 Years Of Hustling

Her name is Lllly Chepkemoi Sirma. She hails from Katebeswet village in Aianamoi subcounty, Kericho county. She is a reknowned Mama mboga who sells groceries and cerials in Kericho town's open air market. Lilly started the business in 1994 with only sh200 and she has been a trader in the market for a period of 28 years now.

The humble businesswoman is actually the chairperson of the whole open air market who has even initiated chamas to help fellow traders to save some of the money they get from their different businesses and even raise funds for different projects in the open air market.

According to the work she does of defending the rights of traders in the area, Lilly was privileged to be nominated in the Kericho county Assembly as an MCA under UDA party by the current Kericho county women representative, Beatrice Kemei. Congratulations to her and actually this is what we term as true definition of bottom-up.
