The Nyanza region has in the past few years seen a number of multi million development projects launched by the national government.In this regard,Siaya governor James Orengo has announced yet another multi billion project set to benefit residents of various counties among them being Siaya county.
Taking to his official Twitter account,the vocal leader informed the public of his meeting with high officials from the ministry of Agriculture.The Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi was among those present in the meeting attended by Orengo.The first term governor revealed that the ministry has announced a multi billion rice production programme in the nation.
Honorable Orengo went on to disclose that the set project will cost four billion shillings and will benefit various counties among them being Siaya county."Held a meeting with senior staff of the Ministry of Agriculture where the national government announced a Shs 4 billion rice production programme,"read the tweet in part.The meeting was held in Nairobi county.
