TSC Emerges With The Highest Expenditure Of 206 Billion In This Financial Year.

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has spent Shs 206 billion to compensate workers for nine months of this financial year to be the highest amount in government Ministries, departments and agencies.

Repeated expenditure analysis shows that Sh345.45 billion has been spent by the government departments and organizations.

According to the Budget director Margaret Nyakang'o's report on the review of implementation of the national government budget for 2020-2021 financial year,teachers compensation stands at 57.3% of the total amount spent on salaries by the national government.

Nyakang'o pointed out that TSC's spending is the fact that most of its budget pays teachers salaries.

"The Teachers Service Commission recorded a total of Sh206 billion in workers' compensation,which translates to 57.3 per cent of the total compensation spent by the national government."said Nyakang'o.

The report compiles with article 228 of the constitution of Kenya section 9 of the Controller of Budget Act,2016 which requires the Controller of Budget to submit quarterly budget reports to the National government and Regional governments every four months.
