Mps to Receive CDF Funds after The Government Approved 2B Ksh Weekly Starting December.

The Treasury has received permission from the Attorney General to release funds to Members of Parliament.Members of Parliament have been requesting that the Ministry of Finance release funds they receive from the Community Development Fund (CDF). The Treasury has now confirmed that it has received permission from the Attorney General to release these funds. They will start releasing these funds this month.

The ministry of finance and planning said that it has received approval from the Attorney general, and will spend 2 billion shillings every week until march, for members of parliament who requested the funds.

The money given to parliamentarians will come from the CDF fund. It is a fund that is meant to cushion against economic crisis.

The Minister of Finance, David mwiraria, said that they are borrowing money from the treasury to use as part of this program. He also noted that this takes priority over other programs like the Presidential Youth Council's project called "Sharing Prosperity with all Kenyans".

The Court of Appeal recently ruled out that the CDF was not legit, and on Tuesday morning, the treasury said in a statement that it had received the attorney general's approval to implement a “revised CDF".
