Through an official statement on Thursday, October 14, 2021 afternoon, the Energy board announced that the fuel costs will reduce starting Thursday midnight. The costs in both Petrol and Diesel will now retail at less with Ksh5. Petrol in Nairobi will retail at Ksh129.72 in Nairobi for the next 30 days. Diesel will also reduce with Ksh5 bob.
The announcement comes days after ODM party Leader Raila Odinga announced that he will make sure the Prices In fuel go down.
In Kenya, Fuel is among the most expensive commodities compared to neighboring countries. With the reduction in Fuel prices, Kenyans expect the government to reduce other prices in various sectors. Commodities such as foodstuffs, Cooking gas and Electricity are among most expensive households that still require a reduction on their costs.
