Raila Odinga today was on a vote hunting mission in Eldoret, William Ruto's backyard, many as is the norm expected that Odinga would receive a hostile reception. On the contrary, business came to a standstill in the North Rift town after thousands of people thronged the Eldoret streets to listen to him.
In a live televised video through the ODM official page, the backed crowd stretched from the popular Barngetuny plaza through Moi street and all compact along the Malaba highway. The crowd was as well very lively and excited. This was a replica of DP Ruto's tour to Raila Odinga's bedrock Nyanza.
Odinga promised the farmers goodies when he takes over government come 2022. He promised fertilizer and seeds subsidies, as well as better pay for the maize farmers. The ODM chief said the current price of fertilizer was too high.
"I'm back to Eldoret, we held candid talks with legislators from this region since last night. When we take over the government I promise to reduce the fertilizer prices, the current 4800 is too high. Seeds will also be subsidized and your harvests will have improved market," Odinga said.
His rival DP William Ruto is on the coast a perceived ODM backyard in vote hunting mission a well. The unfoldings are proof that Kenyan politics is quickly maturing, no heckling but the ballot will decide.
