The Company is enjoying the monopoly of power supply to both homesteads and companies.
However, a few challenges facing the Company include large manufacturing companies now migrating from the grid power to solar power due to hefty bills.
The unreliability of power supply by Kenya Power, is another challenge as some customers are now opting for alternative power.
The Company is likely to experience a reduction in grid power consumers due to myriad reasons. The skyrocketing costs of power installation is a setback. Electricity pricing system is unaffordable to many kenyans.
The most challenging aspect in grid power is the billing system. Many consumers have found themselves shouldering hefty electricity bills which later turn out to be false due to innacuracy as a result of incompetence and mismanagement from the company.
Although the Company is poised to providing better services to its customers there is need for radical changes. Today Kenya Power has announced another maintenance exercise in these areas hence residents should expect very long hours of power outage and get well prepared for it.
