Laikipia is in talks with Zetech University about ways to help the county's medium and small businesses can expand their producution. The talks revolve making machinery for Laikipia Innovation and Enterprise Development Programmer's enterprises.
The County Government has incubated 717 SMEs thus far as part of the initiative. At least 200 County Government staff works as business development officers, whose job it is to guide entrepreneurs through all stages of business development.
Laikipia County Government aims to build its own machinery for mass production of Laikipia-made products would be realized with the support of Zetech University.
"I am grateful for the insightful discussion we have had and look forward to successful collaboration between Zetech University and the County Government of Laikipia." said the Chairman Board of Directors Eng. Ken Mbiuki.
The university will focus on agro-processing through helping Laikipia business in this area, as well as mineral exploitation, through Finken Limited Holdings, which is part of the university.
In turn more money will flow into the county's boosting their economic status.
