Uganda and Tanzania are currently planning to construct a crude oil pipeline that will run from Buliisa in Uganda to Tanga in Tanzania a total of 1 443 km meaning that it will be the longest crude oil pipeline in Africa, it will cover 296 km in Uganda and 1 149 km in Tanzania.
The pipeline upon completion will help transport the crude oil drilled from the Uganda reserves to the Bagamoyo port in Tanzania where it will be exported, Uganda has been confirmed to have more than 2.5 billion barrels of oil which makes it the sixth oil rich country in Africa.
During construction of the pipeline it is believed that more than 10 000 jobs will be created whom most of them will be Mansons, engineers among others, after it completion it will create 1 000 permanent jobs to people of both sides, it's construction is expected to kick off very soon.
