The National Treasury has proposed an increase in excise stamp fees effective 1st March 2023. The deadline for comments on proposal is 3rd February, 2023. It is only bottled water which will remain constant as others experience an increment.
Cigars, Cheroots, Cigarillos, containing tobacco or tobacco substitutes will increase from KES 2.8 to KES 5.
Electronic cigarettes, liquid nicotine will increase from KES 2.8 to KES 5.
Wines will increase from KES 2.8 to KES 5.
Spirits exceeding 6% will increase from KES 2.8 to KES 5.
Spirituous beverages not exceeding 6% will increase from KES 1.5 to KES 3.
Beer, cider, Perry, mead, opaque beer will increase from KES 1.5 to KES 3.
Bottled water will remain KES 0.5.
Non-alcoholic beverages will increase from KES 0.6 to KES 2.2.
Fruits and vegetable juices will increase from KES 0.6 to KES 2.2.
Cosmetics and beauty products will increase from KES 0.6 to KES 2.5.
