Since Kenya is basically an Agrictural economy, such wholesale or rather systemic thinking is very encouraging. It becomes a public concern whether small or large scale.
The government must assist the farmer because it affects all of us directly or indirectly. Our Per Capita income will stumble when agriculture is affected. Everybody's living standards will then go down because human life is interrelated and dependant on each other.
A farmer's personal manouvers never goes far; no wonder we have the Ministry of Agriculture both at the National and County government. A farmer's good earning boosts other businesses. A Boda boda rider will get an earning for ferrying a farmer as customer. A tithe shall get into the church. Fees shall be paid. Domestic workers get paid, taxes are paid to government etc.
Therefore, the government should cushion the famer through subsidies, marketing, Education and Training, Value addition( Agribusiness), cheap loans for purchasing inputs, regulate cheap imports, relay valuable information timely etc.
