Governor H.E Dr FCPA Wycliffe Oparanya today inspected and commissioned development projects initiated by his administration to transform the County.
"We have invested Sh31 million in infrastructural development of this school. We spent Sh 10 million to set up a modern Administration block and another Sh21 million on the new dormitory that we have commissioned today," he explained.
The Governor later launched Bukura modern market in Lurambi Sub County and Manyulia modern market in Khwisero Sub County.
Dr Oparanya said his Government has put a lot of money in setting up modern markets to ensure traders had conducive environment to operate from.
"We have erected flood lights at all markets to enable traders conduct their business untill late hours or even throughout the night and for security purposes," he said.
He asked traders to take advantage of the facilities to boost their economic activities and earn more money.
The Governor reiterated his administration's committment to initiating development projects that will improve the lives of residents and the economy of the County.
At Kilimo Girls School, he asked the students to focus on their studies so as to succeed adding that education gives them the independency they required in life.
He noted that the school has grown from a population of 300 students to 778 adding that he was impressed with its performance in last year's KCSE examination where the school took 22 candidates to university compared to seven who joined university the previous year.
"I have noted remarkable growth in this school. We will continue to support its expansion to accommodate all students," he said.
The Governor while commissioning Bukura and Manyulia markets, he said the modern markets will offer 24 hours business to boost the economy of the area.
He added; "We have constructed modern markets in all the 12 sub counties to ensure traders have a conducive and secure place to do their businesses. We have started the second phase of constructing one more modern market in each of the sub counties."
County Secretary and Head of Public Service Ambassador CPA James Ochami, CECMs, Chief Officers, MCAs led Majority Leader Hon Kennedy Kilwake, County Attorney Madam Vivian Mbaka, Chief of Staff Mr Isaac Omungo among other officers were present.
