On business news today morning on Ntv, the price of Flour has increased by Sh9 for avtwo kilogram packet on high cost of maize,a move likely to spark a rise in inflation. It's reported that millers are not getting enough grains at the market as farmers horde their produce and this has lead to an increase in the selling of flour countrywide.
“Farmers are not releasing maize to the market after the restrictions were imposed on Uganda and Tanzanian maize, pushing up the cost of the raw material,” said Ken Nyagah, chairperson of the United Grain Millers Association.
The prices will be high in future because of the low produce of maize grains from our producers. Please share this article and don't forget leaving a comment.
