As per the latest updates shared by a well-known source this hour, it has emerged that local traders have held demonstrations in Nairobi CBD. Nyamakima traders are asking the government to protect their business after China Square started operations some few weeks ago before it was indefinitely closed. Further, the businessmen are asking deputy president Rigathi Gachagua to take action and protect them from foreigners who are taking most of their customers.
This is a huge blow to China Square owner if the government will consider the traders demands and ban the said shop in the country.
This comes after several Kenyans, including prominent leaders, asked the government to protect the country's small traders. Because most Kenyans go there to get cheap commodities, China Square has caused a lot of fear among some business people in the country.
