Kenya's meteorological department has today release their weekly weather update for the next seven days.
This is a good message for farmers who have tilled their lands in preparations for the planting after the onset of the long rains.
According to the department, several parts of the country are expected to receive heavy rainfall before the end of the week.
"Rainfall is expected to go on over several parts of the country. Isolated storms are likely to occur over some parts of the Lake Victoria Basin, the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Central and South Rift Valley, the Highlands East of the Rift Valley (including Nairobi County), the Coastal Strip, and North-eastern Kenya." Reads part of the message on the department Facebook page.
The meteorological department went on to add that "The South-eastern Lowlands and the Northwest are likely to be generally dry. However, there is a possibility of occasional storms occurring over a few areas."
Kenya's meteorological department has been releasing weekly weather updates and farmers solely rely on them to get accurate weather information.
