It was a ceremony that was attended by close friends and relatives and a few prominent leaders due to the covid-19 restrictions. President Uhuru Kenyatta did not attend but sent CS Macharia who read his tribute terming Kirubi as his good friend.
It was the last day the family, more importantly, his son and daughter saw their father for the last time. Emotions run high once again as people were giving final tributes.
Mary Ann Kirubi Wasinga the only daughter to the late Kirubi could not hide her sad face as she talked of how her dad was kind and good to people around him.
It's in that process that she promised to set up immediately a Chris Kirubi Foundation as his father's legacy whose aim will be to invest in people and help them grow. The foundation will be a legacy to honor Kirubi's work and values.
In his speech that was read by Macharia, Uhuru termed him as a generous man who loved to help and was always dedicated to his work.
