Today, Kisumu Governor Prof Nyong'o presided over the official opening of KEDA Ceramics International Miwani Factory.Present was Deputy Governor Dr. Ochieng Owili and Muhoroni Mp James Onyango Koyoo.
The factory is situated in Miwani ward on a 150 acres piece of land.Upon completion the plant is expected to have three ceramics tiles,two sanitary ware production lines and Fast moving consumer goods industrial park with an initial investment of around 50 million USD and expected to reach upto 160 million USD.
So far the plant has created over 800 direct employment opportunities with more expected to be employed and at least 3000 indirect jobs.
The plant's tiles brand name "Twyford " is now available in our local stores with the excess being exported to the neighboring EAC countries.
