Konza is a small town in Makueni County, Kenya. It is located 70 kilometres South east of Nairobi, the Kenyan capital. Makueni town, the county capital, is located 35 kilometres northeast of Konza. Konza is located in Kimutwa location of Central division of Machakos County. It cost 1.2 trillion which is biult about 5,000 acre's.
Konza City is currently one of the biggest projects not only in Kenya but in the whole of the East Africa region carried out by the government of Kenya, it is set to be completed before 2030 for it is the Vision 2030 project key project which will see Kenya becoming a strong middle class economy.
The City is set to cost a total of 1.2 trillion Kenya shillings so as to complete first phase, it will help in decongesting Nairobi and also create more than 40 000 jobs directly to the youth after total construction.
According to the most recent timeline KoTDA has provided for Konza, the first phase of the city will be completed by 2030, at which point it will have created 20,000 jobs. The entire project is now slated to be finished by 2050.
