China Finally Sets Record Straight On Kenya's Debt Just 34 Days To Uhuru's Retirement

China has set record straight regarding the debt Kenya owes to the Asian economic giant.

In the records seen by, the Chinese ambassador to Kenya, Zhou Pingjian while rubbishing off some claims that blaming China for overburdening the country with loans, he has revealed that the country only owes China 10 per cent of its total debt saying the rumours are not true and are meant to mislead Kenyans.

According Zhou Pingjian, other Western investors, the multilateral financial institutions and commercial creditors, are the largest creditors of African countries such as Kenya.

Mr. Zhou Pingjian added that his country lends Kenya and other African countries following strict customary business practices while respecting the Country's sovereignty.

He added that China only offers to help when need is and when approached by African leaders including Kenyan government leaders.

He added that the Asian Country has never attached any political strings to debt agreements, never forced any African country to take out loans, and never pressed for debt service by any African country.
