Two years down the line, Chaka industrial hub is now fully operational. It has been months of waiting since the hub was commenced under construction and residents can clearly express their job and happiness regarding the same. The hub is constructed in Chaka township in Nyeri County Kieni East sub-county. The Project was commenced under the leadership of Kieni Member of parliament Hon Kanini Kega and the National government.
The industrial hub has enabled market businessmen and women to relocate from their former location which had been elected by KENHA to be part of the road. Apart from the roads authority, they still had to relocate to pave way for the railway efficiency. After speaking to the business persons in the hub, they expressed their happiness and joy for receiving a permanent and convenient place to do their business. They say the hub has fleed them the hustle of sheltering rain and the hot sun. The hub is also the center Matatu stage for a number of routes, this is creating a good flow of customers and convenient access to the market center. The hub is said to spur the economic status of the residents and that of the County since it will improve business in the area.
