Few weeks after the NTV Kenya revealed that Kendu Bay town, one of the prominent towns in Homa Bay county, operates without even a single financial institutions, co-operative bank has finally showed interest in establishing their branch in the area.
On Friday, 28th May, a team from Co-operative bank headquarters which was led by the director in charge of corporate and institutional banking Jacqueline Waithaka visited the town.
They recommend elevating one of the agents in the town to become a super agent as part of the feasibility study and also as first step to setting up a branch.
This latest development will greatly improve the economy of the region considering that Kendu Bay town is endowed with a lot of natural resources and several trading activities also take place in the area.
Kendu Bay town is one of the oldest town in the region and in the country at large. This would now encourage several investors to invest in the region.
