M-PESA has taken a major twist today the 26th of November 2022 after Kenya's leading mobile service provider Safaricom announced pivotal changes on the mobile money service.

Saricom Chief Executive Officer Mr Peter Ndegwa has announced that all kenyans aged between 10 and 17 years will not use the similar criterion in performing M-PESA transactions with those aged 18 and above.

Whereas kenyans aged 18 and above use the M-PESA Super App, USSD Code *334# to perform M-PESA transactions, Kenya's leading mobile service provider Safaricom has announced that all Kenyans aged between 10 and 17 will be required to use the M-PESA Go App.

Safaricom has articulated that the M-PESA Go App will only be used by Juniors, that is, those aged between 10 and 17 and that it will enable them send and receive money, buy airtime and use Lipa Na M-PESA services.

What are your thoughts on the pivotal changes institutionalized on M-PESA by Safaricom? Please share them with us on the comments section.
