Today, reports have emerged that the president of the republic of Kenya, Dr William Samoe Ruto will be visiting one of the Mount Kenya counties tomorrow in the morning to launch a key development project.
As reported by the NTV News, Dr William Samoe Ruto will be going to Kirinyaga county where he will commision the release of water from Thiba dam. According to this publication, water will be released to rice farms. This will be good news to rice farmers in Kirinyaga county who have been facing water shortage for a long period of time.
Thiba dam project was started some few years back where Uhuru's goverment funded its construction only to be launched by a new administration. Thiba dam is also among the few dams who managed to get completed as some dams stagnated due to corruption. Such dams include kimwarer and arror dams. However, Rigathi Gachagua announced that these dams will be revived.
