KEMSA Scandal:Big Political and Parastatal Names Spared

Questions have been raised after big political names and Parastatals names that were mentioned in the 7.8 billion Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) Covid-19 investigation by the Parliament were spared by a report released last week.

The big Parastatal Names include Accenture Kenya, Gadlab Suppliers, Meraky Healthcare, Steplabs Medical Services, Wallabis Ventures, Shop and Buy and Kilig Limited Directors.

Kilig Limited Directors is owned by Ivy Milow Onyango, Shop and Buy by James Cheluley, Gadlab Suppliers by Gladys Muthoni and Wallabis by Dancun Kabiru.

The firms named above, their directors and KEMSA officials face charges related to procurement and payment of the supplies. More than 102 firms that had traded with KEMSA during the questioning had openly admitted violating the law.

Kilig Limited Directors which was also spared off by the report is closely connected to Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe. David Murathe has denied being linked to the Parastatal which nearly bagged a sh 4 billion tender even without experience in drugs and medical kits.
