New Prices For Total Gas, K-Gas, Pro Gas, Mtumishi Gas, Kentos Gas

Households will continue to pay more for gas after Treasury CS Ukur Yatani and Petroleum CS John Munyes skipped a meeting to discuss cushioning Kenyans.

The duo had been summoned by the Senate Energy Committee to discuss measures to mitigate against the high prices.

In 2016, Treasury waivered the 16% VAT on Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) which made the cost of Gases drop. Yesterday, Your Favourite Tax-us Ranger, CS Ukur Yatani slapped LPG with a 14% VAT which means you are going to pay like Ksh. 300 more for a 13Kg Gas.

The crackdown on unregulated LPG cylinders comes when citizens, industry players and lobby groups decry the newly introduced taxes on LPG products.
