China Finally Sets Records Straight On Kenyan's Debt Just 34 Days To Uhuru's Retirement.

Regarding the debt Kenya owes to the Asian economic powerhouse, China has clarified the record.According to records viewed by, the Chinese ambassador to Kenya, Zhou Pingjian, has revealed that the country only owes China 10% of its total debt, dispelling some claims that China is to blame for overloading Kenya with loans. He claims the rumors are untrue and intended to mislead Kenyans.The major creditors of African nations like Kenya, in Zhou Pingjian's opinion, are other Western investors, multilateral financial organizations, and commercial creditors.Mr. Zhou Pingjian noted that his nation lends to Kenya and other African nations while upholding their sovereignty and adhering to strict conventional business norms.China only offers assistance when it is needed and after being contacted by African leaders, including Kenyan government officials, he continued.

He continued by saying that no African nation had ever been forced to take out loans from Asia, and no Asian nation had ever demanded that an African nation pay its debts.
