Gobal Trade Centre Nairobi, which includes the 184m tall GTC Tower, was opened to the public on December 23, 2021. In an event that was graced by the former president Uhuru Kenyatta. The building was one colossal structure taking 6 years to complete. Construction began in July 2015 and completed December 2021.
The building is owned by Chinese firm Avic, which intends to set up its African hub in the building. Kempisnski had opposed construction of the towers by Avic international citing environmental concerns. GTC office building stands at a height of 184 metres, making it one of the tallest buildings in Kenya alongside developments such as Britam Towers which is currently the tallest building in Kenya, at 200 metres.
The building serves as both a residential and office place for businesses. It also brings out the beauty of the city as it towers above all other buildings around it.
