The Konza technopolis is the largest tech hub planed by the government located in Machakos county 64 km south of Nairobi.
The construction of the city costs the government 1.2 trillion Kenyan Shilling.
The Konza technopolis is currently taking it's shape to be a world class city , this is seen by the look on the ground.
The aim of the project is to bring out superior reliable infrastructure for housing and businesses , employment and create more job opportunities to young Kenyans
Phase 1 of the National Data Center at the konza has been completed with plans of rolling out services is underway. On other hand phase 2 is expected to be completed very soon which will hold smart city facilities and services to support the city as well as small and medium businesses
During the KSh3.2 Trillion Kenya Budget 2020/2021 allocation, KSh6.3 billion was set for infrastructure development at Konza tech city, KSh400 million for setting up a data centre at this facility and KSh400 million for completing Phase two of the Konza City project.
