President Uhuru Kenyatta is seeking to borrow a new loan just eight months to his retirement. CS Ukur Yatani is set to give a green light on the government's plan to take 106 billion from Eurobond in the 2022/2023 Financial Year. In the 2022 Budget Policy Statement draft the treasury noted that it is seeking the sovereign bond as the framework, inssuance and availability were all in order. The treasury has plans of using the 106 billions to cover the deficits that emerged from the 2022/2023 budget and also avail funds to the Kenya's green energy projects.
In recognition of the serious threats that have affected the nation the government is seeking to come up with several interventions that will improve the economy. While attending the Global Climate Summit in Glasgow in Scotland Uhuru announced that Kenya will be part of the green energy by 2030. However, the government noted that the money will not be spend on any of the government recurrent expenditure.
