Top Five Kenyan Dwellers Who Own Huge Tracts of Land in Kenya

According to the Kenya Land Alliance, 20% of the population own more than 65% of productive land in Kenya. Today we at opera news would like to share with you a list of five of the biggest land owners in the country.

1. Kenyatta Family

The Kenyatta Family owns over 500,000 acres of land across the country which includes a 32,000 acres ranch in Kiambu county, two tea plantations at Matu and Mangu, three sisal farms near the Tanzanian border, 30,000 acres of land in Taita Taveta and many more others.

2. The Moi family

Daniel arap Moi who served as the second president of Kenya, during his tenure in office, he acquired large tracts of land which include 20,000 acres in Bahati, Nakuru county, 1,600 acres in Kabarak, 20,000 acres in Olenguruone, Nakuru county, 20,000 acres in Molo, 50,000 acres in Ol Pejeta and many more others.

3. Kibaki family

Mwai Kibaki was the third president of Kenya. He led the country from 2002 to 2013. Just like his predecessors, he also own thousands of acres of land across the country which include a 20,000 acres land in Nanyuki, a 10,000 acres ranch in Nakuru, a 1,200 acres Gingalily Farm in Nakuru, a 10,000 acres Igwamiti land in Laikipia, 10,000 acres in Rumuruti. 1,600 acres Ranch in Ruare.

4. Kuki Gallman

She is an Italian-Kenyan national, she is an author, an environmentalist and a conservationist. She owns 100,000 acres of land in Laikipia referred to as the Ol Ari Nyiro Ranch.

5. Alec and Jocelyne Wildenstein

The Wildenstein's originates from France though the couple later on divorced but together they owned 58,000 acres Ol Jogi Conservancy in Laikipia.
