Embakasi North lawmaker James Gakuya has defended the provision of loans by the hustler government. The loan amount will be ranging from 500 shillings to 50, 000 shilling's. Gakuya says that 500 shillings is a lot of money and that there are many people who make revenue out of it. He gives an example of a person who sells sweets on the streets or those who sel roasted maize along the highways and that they require about 500-1000 shillings as starting capital. He goes on to justify that that amount is just enough to the hustlers.
But he also says that the money is not for everybody and that it is just for those who have had a problem with accessing loans from the Small Microfinance Enterprises. The hustler loan is set to be launched launched today and Kenyans won't need to fill physical forms in order to receive the loans.
