Konza Smart City is a new technology city which is currently under construction in Kenya and by the government of Kenya in partnership with many other private and public organizations, it was first launched in 2009 by the then president Mwai Kibaki as key project in making vision 2030 a reality.
In the recent last five years a very serious work in the construction of the city has been going on in the ground where up to now about 70% of the first phase has already been completed which mainly deals with horizontal infrustructure such as roads and tunnels, phase two work which is now vertical work is expected to commence early next year.
Up to now a modern data center has already been completed and it is currently holding data from the government bodies, another thing which has been completed is the first building which is being used as a administration point, the main aim of the city is to drive Kenya's economy to a modern digital economy.
