The Orange Democratic Movement leader have been populirize his Azimio La Umoja bid in some parts of Kenya as he is eyeing to step in Uhuru's shoes in the next general election.
According to his strategies he mentioned at Chuka University a week ago, Raila said that he planned to convert the Higher Education Loans to a grant for hustlers in Kenya.ODM Supremo wants to free all University and College students from loans.
However, this plan have been rejected by the HELB board.The Chief Executive Officer Charles Ringera said that the money is paid to students in a Differentiated Unit Cost (DUC) and they do not pay it back.In addition the Chief Executive said that the government already owns 43 billion Education grants.
On the other hand Raila also promised Chuka University Students in Tharaka Nithi County to award all hustlers 6000 shillings in a monthly period.Recently he withdrew the statement and said that not everyone will be given those awards.
