'My First Own Business I Used To Sell Vegetables From Meru' Uhuru Kenyatta Narrates (Video)

Video of President Uhuru Kenyatta being interviewed and narrating what he did before joining his family business and becoming the President of Kenya, has surfaced online and it has elicited mixed reactions. This video has surfaced online days after the Pandora papers leaked and it exposed his wealth in abroad.

Uhuru narrated his story during the Equity Bank wings to fly scholarship program where top students are being sponsored by Equity. Uhuru in the interview, said that his first business he sold vegetables, he was collecting them from Meru.

Before he started the vegetables business, he worked for a short while with Kenya Commercial Bank, he was a teller at Kipande house branch on Kenyatta Avenue. Uhuru working as a teller it wasn't an easy task but he is proud because it taught him to stand strong and to depend on himself.

After leaving KCB bank, he started selling the vegetables with one small pick-up. He used to sell French beans, he was collecting them from Meru. The French beans from Meru, he used to pack them and export them with help of Willam Company Limited.

He built his brand over a period of time and after 10 years, he sold the company for a healthy good profit and after that he slowly started to join the family business.
