KPLC Board To Approve Recovery Of Assets From Current And Former Staff

Nation media columnist Gabriel Oguda has revealed that the newly constituted Kenya power and lighting board is planning to approve a deal that will enable the company recover assets from the current and former employees.

"The Kenya power board are about to approve the recovery of assets from all staff,current and former,who have ever been involved in extracting money from the firm" Gabriel Oguda tweet.

The auditor general had raised concerns on hefty payments made to Independent power producers by Kenya party and lighting company despite the firms accounting for only a fraction of the electricity consumed in the country.

The company has remained in a negative working capital position for the fifth consecutive year.The board of directors and management in the past and in the year under review indicated strategic initiatives that were being undertaken to improve the financial results of the company.

It is believed that the current employees of Kenya power and lighting company and the former staff were involved in corrupt deals that led to the company recording looses.
