According to Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) latest report there are counties with the fewest number of people living below the poverty line. The following counties are believed to be the richest due to having most wealthiest residents in Kenya. This simply means that they have the lowest number of poor people (who can't afford all three basic needs) compared to other counties
After the research was done Lamu County was found to be the wealthiest county in Kenya, only about 20,250 of its population are living below the poverty line. The County Government of Lamu has less work in lifting its members out of poverty due to its small population. Isiolo, Nyeri came in the 2nd and 3rd place respectively with about 47,000 and 63,000 people living below the poverty line. The three counties were found to the wealthiest counties in Kenya.
The list of the top counties with the lowest number of people living below the poverty was completed by the following counties; Taita Taveta with 70,891 people living below the poverty line, Tharaka Nithi with 77,065 people living below the poverty line, Kirinyaga with 77,580 people living below the poverty line, Nyandarua 88,738 with people living below the poverty line, Embu with 96,634 people living below the poverty line, Elgeyo Marakwet with 119,826 people living below the poverty line and Mombasa with 122,600 people living below the poverty line.
The number of people living below the poverty line in each county are Kenyan citizens who are struggling to meet their daily needs.
