Fake It Till You Make It Mantra Set Stop With The New KRA Plan To Monetize Social Media Big Spenders

"The much-discussed plan to use social media to screen lifestyle and catch up with tax dodgers has led to increased requests on compliance," KRA says.

It says there is a consistent rise in citizens trying to know their tax compliance status.

KRA Deputy Commissioner responsible for Marketing and Communications Grace Wandera said KRA effectively uses innovative arrangements, including online media checking tools.

In addition, KRA commissioner-general Githii Mburu said his office was already on social media searching for people posting luxurious items and traveling to places to ensure their taxes match the same.

She added that adopting innovative solutions for supplementing customary revenue collection tools is outfitted to enhance compliance efforts that focus on guaranteeing taxpayers record returns and paying the correct expenses.

Kenyans have transformed the KRA approach into social media jokes attempting to justify how hard it is for the taxman to utilize social media updates to limit high spenders not paying charges.

KRA said it is logically taking on present-day innovations to help income collection systems.

KRA has already taken on Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, and information mining contemporary technologies.

However, Kenyans are still skeptical about how this process will work since it has never been applied anywhere in Kenya. Anyway, let's wait and see how it will play out.
