The iconic Hilton hotel that is located in the Nairobi CBD has closed down its doors after 53 years being in the hospitality industry.As the hotel closed down on the end of 2022, Kileleshwa ward MCA Robert Alai has come up with allegations surrounding the hotel.
Taking to his official twitter handle,the vocal Nairobi politician has alleged that the iconic hotel was built on public land where the Nairobi rail station was supposed to be built.He has said that now that the hotel's operations have come to a standstill,then the hotel should be donated to Nairobi county.
He went on to add that the hotel was allegedly built through the influence of corruption and that the owner must have recovered what they spent.Alia went further to allege that a Cabinet Secretary who is currently serving in the Kenya Kwanza government is trying to sell the hotel to the Nairobi county at Ksh 1.7 billion.
"Hilton Hotel was built on land where the Nairobi light rail station was to be built.Hilton Hotel should be donated to Nairobi County.A Kenya Kwanza CS is trying to sell it to Nairobi County at Ksh 1.7 billion," Robert Alia alleged.
