In the newly released December- January Fuel pricing schedule, the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) announced that the prices for fuel would remain unchanged. The prices of fuel had earlier on in November decreased by Ksh 1. A litre of petrol now sells at Ksh 177, Diesel at Ksh 162 and Kerosene at Ksh 146 in the Kenya's Capital of Nairobi.
This unchanged price has brought slight effect on the lives of Kenyans in various distinguished localities across the country. Prices of essential commodities have seen a sharp drop while the cost refilling gas cylinders dropped but still remains sky high.
In a report released by Quickmart Supermarket, Kenyans will spend less money during this festive season in order to replenish their gas cylinders. 6 KG OLA Mpishi Cooking Gas is refilled at KSh 1340 down from KSh 1400.
Refilling a 6KG, K-Gas cylinder costs KSh 1299 a drop from KSh 1415. Refilling 13KG Cylinder of the same brand now costs at KSh 2799 down from KSh 2985. Kenyans using Afrigas will spend KSh 1299, a drop by KSh 116 from KSh 1415. While those using a 13KG cylinder will spend KSh 2786 down from KSh 2916.
