Uganda's Central Bank governor dies in Nairobi

Following the announcement by deputy governor of central bank of uganda Michael Atingi, Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile died on Sunday 23rd morning in Nairobi hospital while getting treatment. He was admitted on 31st December 2021.

Mutebile is remembered for his effort in spreading design and implementation of economic reform program that raised the economy of uganda from crisis in 1970s.

He was the governor and chairman of board of directors of central bank of uganda. He was also a consultant in world Bank and also consultant in central banks of Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania and Ethiopia. He had heart problems and diabetic disorders which led to his death at Nairobi hospital. The management and government career has been left in hand of his deputy Michael Atingi, who will be in late's position untill the government in assistance with world Bank takes the next step of appointing a new governor or else he may maintain.
