After the Kenyan government made significant adjustments to the repayment timeframe for Hustler Fund loans just a few days ago, the Hustler Fund has taken on a new twist.
The Kenyan Government stated today, January 10, 2023, that the repayment time for Hustler Fund loans has increased from the current 14 days to 29 days. This announcement was made via the Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs.
In a sincere effort to give the residents enough time to find sources of funding for the loan payback, the Kenyan Government has stated that fifteen days have been added to the period given for all Kenyan citizens to repay their Hustler Fund loans.
The Kenyan government has stated that all Kenyan residents who default on their Hustler Fund loans during the recently formalized grace period will have their interest rates doubled.
According to Simon Chelugui, cabinet secretary for cooperatives and MSME development, this will allow Kenyans to borrow more money to expand their business endeavors.
“We continue to urge Kenyans to borrow and pay because that is the only way you can grow your limits." "But if you cannot repay a loan with the smallest interest rate of 0.02 percent, then I don’t think you’re being fair to yourself,” CS Chelungui said.
