Bomet county residents are angry lot after the famous livestock market Chebunyo in Chepalungu county was shifted to Narok county. They say the revenue the market accumulated for the county and it's residents will be lost forthwith hence a blow to them.
The residents are blaming the Bomet county governor doctor Hillary Barchok for the transfer of the market.Taking to social media the locals condemned the move saying the market should be brought back to Bomet county.
It is said that the market was transferred to Narok county since market did not meet the requirements by the ministry of health.
The market has been an identity for livestock traders. It's origin dates back to colonial era where barter trade was the order of the day. Monday being its day, traders from across the country travel there from as early as 4 am.
