The Only African Country That Exports Electricity To Europe :{Photos}

Spain and Morocco allegedly agreed to build a power interconnection after signing a memorandum of understanding, according to JLS magazine. The line is 31.3 km long and has a 1,400 MW technical capacity. This will make it possible for the European electricity system to incorporate renewable energy, mostly photovoltaic.

As part of its climate change policy, Spain wants to use only renewable energy by 2030. Morocco wants to have 42% of its energy consumption come from renewable sources by the end of 2020. In the Moroccan desert, the British intend to build a complex for wind and solar energy. The goal is to generate 10.5 GW of power that will flow via Portugal, Spain, and France's territorial seas.

With over 3,600 hours of sunshine per year, Morocco has the greatest rate of solar insolation. Over 3,000 hectares of land make up the largest concentrated solar farm in the world. The heat from the mirrors melts a cylinder of salt during the day, and the heat remains hot enough at night to supply up to three (3) hours of power. It employs a state-of-the-art design that combines a sizable array of 224 parabolic mirror collectors to focus solar energy.
